Range

Australia; New Guinea;
Three populations;
(1) Mountains of wc. New Guinea (Oranje Mountains).
(2) Australia (Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, Lord Howe Is., Norfolk Is. Isolated population on Christmas Is.
Migrates to the Lesser Sundas, Java, Indonesia, Moluccas, Aru Is., s. New Guinea and occasionally New Zealand.
