Se. Siberia in Transbaikalia, Lake Baikal and ne. Mongolia e. to Amurland, Ussuriland s. to n. and e. China and North Korea. Formerly has bred in ne. India (Assam).
Migration route may be over Indian Ocean from India to e. Africa.
Winters in e. and s. Africa fromc. and se. Kenya, especiallyTsavo in autumn and Malawi s. to ne. South Africa (Transvaal). Se. Asia?
