Australia; New Guinea;
Two populations;
(1) C. and e. New Guinea e. from Weyland Mountains and Merauke (including Manam Is., Karkar Is. and Dampier Is.), w. Bismarck Archipelago (Long Is.) and coastal n. Australia (n. Western Australia and n. Northern Territory).
(2) Humid regions of e., c. and n. Australia in Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia, King Is., Flinders Islands, Tasmania and many offshore islands.
(3) Arid interior of sw. and cw. Australia.
