Range

Indian Subcontinent;
India n. to Himalayan foothills and Indus River, w. to Pakistan border and e. to Assam, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram. Sri Lanka.
Introduce to many parts of the world, but seldom becomes an established resident. Semi-feral in parts of California.
