S. Central America, n. and c. South America. Se. Brazil. S. Paragury:
Highly fragmented distribution; On the Caribbean slope from Belize, e. Guatemala, se. Honduras (Rio Coco), Costa Rica including the Gulf of Dulce, Panama, n. and e. Colombia, Venezuela, Trinidad, Guyana, Surinam, Guiana, Amazonian and e. Brazil (c. Bahia, Chapada Diamantina, Lencois), w. Ecuador, e. Peru, n. and c. Bolivia (Pando, La Paz). Apparently isolated populations in se. Brazil and s. Paraguay.
