Range
E. South America;
Two populations;
(1) Ec. Brazil (Pernambuco (Igaracu), forested caverns on tributaries along the right bank of Rio Paranaiba, and Alagoas (Mangabeira)). May have once occurred in ne. Bahia and Sergipe.
(2) Se. Brazil (se. Bahia and s. Goias (Rio Meia Ponte, Rio dos Bois), Minas Gerais (upper Rio Doce) s. to ex. se. Mato Grosso (Rio Parana and Rio Amapai), Espírito Santo (Linhares), and Rio Grande do Sul (Aparados da Serra), se. Paraguay (San Rafael National Park, Rio Parana) and ex. ne. Argentina (Misiones).
