Range
C. to e. South America;
(1) C. and nw. Brazil s. of the Amazon from s. Amazonas (Humaita) on the e. bank of the upper Rio Madeira e. to Maranhao (Codo) and s. Piaui (Palmeirinhas, Corrente) to n. Bahia (Bonfim).
(2) Lowlands of w. Bolivia (Chatarona, upper Rio Beni), c., e. and s. Brazil (s. from the Mato Grosso, Goias, e. Bahia (Lamarao and Chapada Diamantina) and Pernambuco to Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul) to Uruguay, e. Paraguay, and ne. Argentina (Misiones and possibly adjacent Corrientes).
(3) Ne. Argentina (e. Formosa, Choco and Corrientes s. to e. La Pampas, s. Buenos Aires and Rio Negro (?).
(4) Mountains of ex. se. Peru (Pampas de Heath), nw. and c. Bolivia (La Paz, Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, Chuquisaca, Tarija) and nw. Argentina (Jujuy, Salta, Tucuman, Catamarca).
