(1) S. and se. United States and e. Central America along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico from New Jersey s. to e. Mexico and Belize.
Winters s. to e. Brazil.
(2) The West Indies (the Bahamas, Greater Antilles and n. Lesser Antilles to Dominica).
(3) Pacific coast from nw. Mexico (c. Baja) and s. from n. Sonora through Central America, Panama (Pearl Is.) and Ecuador. Ranges s. to s. Peru.
(4) Caribbean and Atlantic coast of Colombia, Venezuela, Netherland Antilles (Aruba), Grenadines and Grenada, Mustique, Trinidad, Guyana, Surinam, Guiana and ne. Brazil (Amapa, e. Bahia).
