N. North America;
Three populations;
(1) S. Alaska (Anchorage) from Bristol Bay e. to the Stikine River and w. Canada (s. Yukon).
Winters along the Pacific coast from wc. United States to s. Peru.
(2) C. Canada (ec. British Colombia to s. Mackenzie, se. Keewatin and ne. Manitoba s. to ec. British Columbia, c. Alberta, and c. Saskatchewan).
Winters from the se. United States to Panama.
(3) Ne. Canada s. from the Ungava Peninsula in c. Quebec and w. Labrador to n. Ontario and Nova Scotia (Brier Is.).
Winters along the Atlantic coast from s. United States to the West Indies in the e. Caribbean and Brazil (e. Bahia).
