Range
Alaska and arctic Canada;
Four widely separated populations;
Nw. and sc. Alaska (Cook Inlet area, probably Kotzebue Sound, and Norton Bay). N. Mackenzie (mouth of the Mackenzie River). Nw. British Colombia (Chilcat Pass). Ne. Manitoba and nw. Ontario along coast of s. Hudson Bay.
Winter in South America in Uruguay (Departments of Maldonado and Rocha) to Tierra del Fuego.
