N. Siberia from the Yenisei River delta e. along the Arctic coast to New Siberian Is. and the Chukotski Peninsula s. to Anadyrland and Koryakland. N. Alaska at Barrow.
Migrant through Europe (Greece in the estuaries of the Acheloos River and Evinos River).
Winters in subsaharan Africa (Lake St. Lucia, n. Zululand, South Africa), Arabian Peninsula, India, se. Asia and Australia (w. and n. Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia) and Tasmania.
