Range

N. Palearctic;
Three populations;
(1) N. Europe n. Scandinavia, n. Russia (Kola Peninsula) and n. Siberia from the Yenisei River e. to the Kolyma River.
Migrant at Hortobagy National Park, Hungary.
Winters in the Middle East (Khor Dubai, United Arab Emirates) and w. India.
(2) Ne. Siberia.
Winters in e. India, Taiwan, the Philippines and Australia (coastal regions of Western Australia (Broome Bird Observatory), Northern Territory, Queensland (Cairns Esplanade), New South Wales, Victoria and se. South Australia).
