Breeds along s. Bering Sea coasts in Siberia (Commander Is.), Pribilof Is. and the Aleutians to s. and se. Alaska, w. Canada and nw. United States (e. Washington and nw. Oregon).
Winters on the coasts of China, Japan and w. Canada, the United States and nw. Mexico (Baja).
