Range
N. Europe and nw. Siberia;
(1) Iceland, Faeroes, British Isles, France s. in n. Spain to Portugal.
Winters in the w. Mediterranean and nw. Africa.
(2) N. Scandinavia in Sweden and n. Norway e. in n. Russia (White Sea) and nw. Siberia(?) e. to the Taimyr Peninsula and s. along the coasts of the North Sea and Baltic Sea to Denmark and n. Germany(?).
Winters mostly along the e. coast of Africa and the Persian Gulf.
(3) Netherland, n. Germany, Denmark and s. Norway. An isolated population occurs in ne. Spain (Ebro Delta).
Winters mostly in w. Europe and w. Africa.
