Range
Circumpolar in the Southern Ocean;
Three breeding populations n. of 60°S on subantarctic is.;
(1) s. Atlantic Ocean (East Falkland, South Georgia and South Sandwich Is.). Formerly bred in the South Shetlands and the is. off Cape Horn (s. Chile on Horn Is. and s. Argentina on Staten Is.).
(2) S. Indian Ocean (Marion, Prince Edward, Crozet, Kerguelen, and Heard Is.). S. Pacific Ocean (Macquarie Is.). Disperses n. to about 40°S and wanders n. to s. Argentina (Chubut) and South Africa (Cape of Good Hope)(?) and s. to the coast of Antarctica.
