Circumpolar; Antarctica and surrounding waters between 66°S and 78°S;
Breeds on the Filchner Ice Shelf, Coats Land: Gould Bay, Dawson-Lambton, Halley Bay (Emperor Bay), Stancomb-Wills Promontory, Drescher Inlet, Dronning Maud Land: Riiser-Larsen, Atka Bay, Sanae, Lasarev Ice Shelf, Riiser-Larsen Peninsula, Kemp Land: Kloa Point, Fold Is., Taylor Glacier, Douglas Is., Mac Robertson Land: Cape Darnley, Vestfold Hills, Amanda Bay, Princess Elizabeth Land: Pingvin Is., Gaussberg, Queen Mary Land: Haswell Is., Shackleton Ice Shelf, Davis Sea, Wilkes Land: Bowman Is.; Adelie Land: Pointe Geologie Archipelago, Victoria Land: w. coast of the Ross Sea, Cape Roget, Coulman Is., Cape Washington, Franklin Is., e. coast of the Ross Ice Shelf: Little America and Dion Is. off the s. Antarctic Peninsula).
