N. and e. South America;
Two populations;
(1) Coastal ne. and ce. Colombia (Magdalena e. to Guajira and e. of the Andes from Arauca to Meta and Vichada), n. Venezuela (s. to the Orinoco), Margarita Is. and Trinidad.
(2) Guiana, e. and s. Brazil (se. Para, Maranhao, Piaui, Ceara and Bahia (Chapada Diamantina), and Brasílias, through c. Goias (Emas National Park), w. Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo to Mato Grosso (Pantanal) and Parana) to Paraguay and ex. ne. Argentina (Misiones).
