W. India to se. Asia and the Philippines;
Fragmented distribution;
(1) W. India (Western Ghats, Karnataka, Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary) and Sri Lanka.
(2) E. India in the foothills of the Himalayas from Uttar Pradesh e. to Assam, Burma to Thailand, s. China (s. Yunnan), Thailand to Laos and s. Vietnam (Cochinchina).
(3) N. Luzon.
(4) Andaman and Nicobar Is.
(5) Sulu Archipelago.
(6) N. Philippine Is. (s. Luzon, Polillo, Alabat, Catanduanes, Lubang and Mindoro). Mandate s. to Mindanao and Basilan.
(7) E. Philippines Is. (Mandate s. to Mindanao and Basilan).
(8) Is. of the Flores Sea (Tanahjampea, Kalao, Madu and Kalaotoa Is.) and s. Molucca (Buru).
