Range

India to e. Asia, Taiwan and n. Philippines;
Several island populations;
(1) Pakistan (Baluchistan, Sind, Punjab), India (Uttar Pradesh, Assam), w. Nepal and Sikkim.
(2) N. Tibet, s. and e. China (Szechwan, se. Tsinghai, Kansu, ne. Inner Mongolia, s.Hopeh and Shantung), Taiwan to Burma, Thailand, Malay Peninsula, n. Philippines (Calayan, Luzon, Lubang, Mindoro) and Andaman Is.
Possibly introduced to Sulawesi.
