Range

W. and c. Africa;
Two main populations;
(1) Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia to Ivory Coast. Isolated population in Guinea-Gissau and s. Mali.
Feral populations exist in many African cities.
(2) Se. Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, s. Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Congo, Central African Republic, n. Zaire, Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda to w. Kenya, nw. Tanzania s. to sw. and ec. Zaire and n. Angola. Principe and Fernando Po Is.
