Range

W. Tasmania and coastal se. Australia;
Sw. Tasmania (Melaleuca, Bathurst Harbor from October to March). Migrates along the w. coast of Tasmania across the Bass Strait to coastal South Australia and w. Victoria (Point Wilson). The only mid-migration stop-over is at Sea Elephant Is. in the Bass Strait.
Winters in coastal Victoria (Werribee and Swan Island).
Formerly bred in e. New South Wales.
