Winters along the North Sea coast from Norway to Scotland, England, n. France, ex. nw. Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, n. Germany, Denmark, s. Sweden in the w. Baltic Sea. Locally along the Mediterranean Sea coast of Spain (Erbo Delta) and Mallorca in the Balearic Is., inland locally in Switzerland (Bodensee), n. Italy, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria (Danube River), n. and e. Adriatic Sea coast, Albania, nw. and nw. Greece, n. Turkey, n. Aegean Sea, Sea of Marmara, Romania, s. Russia from the Black Sea to the Caspian Sea and the Aral Sea.
(2) E. Siberia from the Lena River to the Indigirka River and the Chukotski Peninsula in the arctic and s. to Transbaicalia, Amurland, Kamchatka and n. Sakhalin Is., China (w. Mongolia, n. Manchuria) and ex. w. Alaska (Seward Peninsula, Cape Prince of Wales).
Winters from the Pacific coast of the e. Kamchatka Peninsula, Kuril Is., s. Sakhalin Is., Korea, Japan, c. China (Fukien) to n. Taiwan and s. Alaska.
