Range

Tropical Africa and Madagascar;
Four populations;
(1) S. Mauritania, Senegambia, s. Mali, sw. Niger, Gulf of Guinea is., n. Nigeria, s. Chad and s. Sudan to Ethiopia and sw. Arabia.
(2) Sierra Leone to Angola and ne. Zaire and islands in the Gulf of Guinea.
(3) Highlands of s. Sudan s. to Malawi and ne. South Africa.
(4) Coastal lowlands from s. Somalia s. to Mozambique.
(5) N. Namibia, and n. Botswana.
(6) Mozambique to e. South Africa (Natal).
(7) Comoro Is.
(8) Madagascar.
