Sw. and e. Australia. Ex. n. New Zealand;
Three populations;
(1) Ne. Queensland to s. of Cape York Peninsula.
(2) Australia (nc. Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and se. South Australia).
Introduced to sw. Western Australia, Tasmania, Kangaroo Is. and Flinders Is. in the Bass Strait and ex. n. New Zealand.
