Syria and Israel, and nw. North Africa (Morocco, ex. nw. Rio de Oro, n. Algeria and n. Tunisia).
(2) Iraq and sw. Iran.
(3) Caucasus Mountains, Armenia, Iran, Afghanistan to Kazakhstan (Aral Sea and Lake Balkhash), w. China (w. Sinkiang, sw. Tibet and probably n. Tsinghai), Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Burma, then s. locally in Saudi Arabia, n. and s. Yemen, Oman and Egypt (Nile Delta), in Africa s. of the Sahara from ex. sw.
