Range

Se. and sw. South America; Cw. South America;
Two populations;
(1) Ex. s. Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul), Uruguay, Paraguay, e. of the Andes in Argentina s. from Santiago del Estero, Santa Fe and Entre Rios and w. of the Andes in Chile s. from Coquimbo and Bio Bio.
(2) Argentina from s. Patagonia to Tierra del Fuego.
(3) A small population apparently exists in coastal Peru (Piura, Lambayeque, Ancash and Ica).
