W. Australia; E. Australia; New Zealand;
Three populations;
Australia (w. and s. Western Australia, sc. Northern Territory, ec. to se. South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales (Lake Bathurst), s. Queensland), Tasmania and New Zealand (North and South Island). Since ca. 1976, it has occurred only in Southland, South Island. Ranges to Snares Is.
