Range

N. subsaharan Africa. S. tropical Africa;
Two distinct populations;
(1) Sw. Mauritania and Senegambia e. through s. Mali, Burkina Faso, s. Niger, s. Chad and s. Sudan to Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia and n. Tanzania.
(2) Angola, s. Zaire s. to sc. Namibia and South Africa (e. Cape Province).
