N. and ne. India to se. Asia and the Greater Sundas;
Four populations;
(1) N. and e. India in the foothills of the s. Himalayas from Dehra Dun in Bihor, e. Bengal to Assam, Nepal, s. Bhutan, n. Bangladesh, and Burma. Is. in the Mergui Archipelago (Salanga, Kadau Kyun, Thayawthadangyi Kyun), s. Cnina (w. Yunnan and s. Xishuangbanna Provinces and Guangxi and s. Zhuang Aca regions), Vietnam and is. of Hon Thom and Quan Phu Quoc, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand to Phatthalung and is. of Ko Chang, Phuket and Tarutao, ne. Peninsular Malaysia along the w. coastal plain to Kedah at Alor Star and Mabek and is. of Langkawi and Pulau Butang.
(2) S. Peninsular Thailand in Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Riau Archipelago (Batan, Bintan, Merah, Durian, Kurimon, Bulan, Galang, Mapor), Linnaga Archipelago, Musala Is, Nias Is., Batu Is. (Telo, Tanahmasa, Tanahbala), Mentawai Is. (Siberut, Sipura, Pagai Utari and Utara Selautan), Legundi, Java (Ujung, Kulon, Pangandarau, Bakuran), is. of Panaitan, w. Bali, n. Natuna Is. (Bunguran, Lingung, Laut, Pandak), Tambelan Is. (Tambelan, Besar, Benua, Gilla, Uwi), Borneo (Kalimantan, Sarawak, Sebah) and is. of Gaya and Brunei.
