Range

Galapagos Is. in e. Pacific Ocean;
Breeds in the se. Galapagos Is. (Hood or Espanola Is. at Punta Suarez, Punta Cevallos, s. coast and the s. slopes of the highest hills) and Ecuador (Isla de la Plata).
Disperses to the coasts of Colombia (nw. Choco), Ecuador and e. Peru in the Humboldt Current mainly between 4°N and 12°S (s. to Independencia Bay and Mollendo). Large nonbreeding concentrations occur in the Gulf of Guayaquil, Ecuador and Lobos de Tierra Is., n. Peru.
