E. of the Andes in tropical South America;
(1) E. Paraguay, se. Brazil, Uruguay and ne. Argentina.
Migrates n. to e. Colombia and Venezuela.
(2) S. Venezuela, ex. nw. Brazil, s. Guyana, Surinam and Guiana with zone of intergradation s. to lower Rio Negro, lower Rio Madeira and lower Amazon.
(3) E. Ecuador, e. Peru, se. Brazil (Bahia (Chapada Diamantina)), w. Paraguay and n. Bolivia with zone of intergradation from w. Paraguay to ne. Argentina and w. Uruguay.
(4) Se. Bolivia and n. Argentina.
Migrates n. to w. Amazonia as far as se. Colombia.
