S. North America, West Indies, Central America and South America;
(1) Ex. sc. United States (New Mexico along Rio Grande, nc. and coasts of e. Texas and sw. Louisiana) along both coasts of Mexico (from s. Sonora and s. Durango in the w., and Nuevo Leon and e. Tamaulipas including islands off the Yucatan Peninsula s.), West Indies (Cuba, Isle of Pines, Watling's Is. and in the Bahamas on Great Inagua and San Salvador), Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
(2) Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Trinidad, Dutch Leeward Is., Guyana, Surinam, Guiana, Brazil (Bahia, Chapada Diamantina, Parana, Rio Iguazu), Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, Uruguay, Argentina to Tierra del Fuego.
