S. Uganda (Entebbe, Lake Kioga), sw. Kenya (Amboseli, local temporary swamps in Tarangire National Park and nw. Mara Game Refuge), Rwanda (swamps of the Kagera River), Burundi, se. Zaire (Lualaba and Kasai Valleys, Katanga), w. and c. Tanzania, Zambia (Zambezi Valley and Lake Bangweulu), e. and s. Angola, Malawi, w. and s. Mozambique, Zimbabwe, n. Botswana (Okavango Delta), nw. Namibia, ne. South Africa from Natal to King William's Town in Cape Province.
