Unforested Africa s. of the Sahara; Sw. Arabia;
Two populations;
(1) Sw. Mauritania, Senegambia, s. Mali, s. Niger, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, Zaire, Central African Republic, s. Chad, c. and s. Sudan, n. Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia and sw. Arabia (s. Yemen).
(2) Highlands of Ethiopia s. to Zaire, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, Malawi and n. Mozambique.
(3) S. Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique s. in Botswana and Namibia to South Africa (Cape Province).
