Highly fragmented distribution;
(1) Fragmented populations in s. Mauritania through s. Mali to Nigeria and Ghana to sw. Niger and n. Nigeria.
(2) Sw. Ethiopia and C. Kenya (e. of Rift Valley fromTarangire National Park).
(3) W. Kenya (c. Rift Valley to w. Kenyan highlands, Mara Game Reserve and Serengeti National Park).
(4) Gabon and s. Congo Republic to Angola and Zambia to c. Zaire. Rwanda, Burundi, s. Uganda, Kenya (coastal lowlands to Arabuko-Sokoke Forest, inland to near Mt. Kasigau) and Tanzania to Malawi, Zimbabwe, Botswana, n. Namibia, s. Mozambique and e. South Africa (Transvaal and Natal e. to ne. Cape Province) and n. and e. Orange Free State.
