Range

Unforested Africa s. of the Sahara.
S. Arabia; Main population in Africa with two small isolated populations in s. Arabia;
(1) Sw. Mauritania, Senegambia, s. Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, s. Niger, Togo, Benin, n. Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Central African Republic and Lake Chad.
(2) C. and s. Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Djibouti.
(3) The Dahlak Archipelago in the Red Sea off n. Ethiopia.
(4) Sw. and e. Arabia and n. Somalia.
(5) Angola, s. and e. Zaire, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Botswana, Zimbabwe s. to South Africa (Cape Province).
(6) Namibia.
