Ex. ne. Nearctic across n. Palearctic;
(1) Ex. ne. Canada (n. Baffin Is.), Greenland, Iceland and Faeroe Is. Spitsbergen (Svalbard) and Bear Is.?
(2) British Isles and Sweden s. to n. France (Ile d' Ouessant, Finistere, Bretagne) and the Mediterranean Basin (Aiguamolls de l'Emporda, Cataluna, Spain).
(3) N. Europe across n. Scandinavia and n. Russia (Novaya Zemlya) and n. Siberia to the Chukotski Peninsula, Anadyrland, Sea of Okhotsk and w. Alaska (St. Lawrence Is.).
Winters in Africa, Mediterranean Basin, Iberian Peninsula, Red Sea, Persian Gulf, Iran, s. Asia and Australia in ex. ne. Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and se. South Australia.
