Three breeding populations;
C. China. Se. Siberia (Ussuriland and Soviet Far East) ne. China and North Korea. Japan (Honshu and Shikoku).
Winters in ne. India to Japan, s. Korea, se. China and n. Indochina (Burma to n. Vietnam).
