(1) S. Mali, c. and e. Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Angola, Zaire, Lake Chad, s. Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti and nw. Somalia s. in Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Angola, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe to s. South Africa (Cape Province).
(2) Madagascar.
Winters in the Lake Chad region.
