Range

C. Asia;
Fragmented distribution;
S. Siberia (upper Ob and Yenisei Rivers, s. Lake Baikal, Transbaicalia and s. Ussuriland), Mongolia to ne. China (n. Manchuria, Heilungkiang) and Japan?.
During migration occurs in the Mai Po Marsh and Long Valley, Hong Kong and Mekong Delta, s. Vietnam.
Winters in s. and se. Asia including the Greater Sundas (Sumatra) and Australia (nw. Western Australia (Port Hedland Salt Works and Broome Bird Observatory during austral summer), ex. n. Northern Territory, Queensland (Brisbane during austral summer), New South Wales and Victoria).
