(1) Arctic Ocean from e. North America, n. Greenland to the Shetland Is., Jan Mayen, Spitsbergen (Svalbard), Bear Is., Franz Josef Land, Novaya Zemlya and New Siberian Is., Wrangel Is., Herald Is. to ne. Siberia (Chukotski Peninsula) s. to Commander Is. and Kuril Is. N. Alaska, St. Lawrence Is. and s. from Cape Thompson e. to Barter Is. and nw. Canada (n. Yukon). Ne. Canada along the coast of ne. Keewatin, Hudson Bay and James Bay and on Ellesmere Is., Devon Is., Somerset Is., Bylot Is. and e. Baffin Is.
(2) Subarctic ne. Canada (n. Labrador, Quebec, Gulf of St. Lawrence, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia), ne. United States (Maine) to s. Greenland, British Isles and Scandinavia.
(3) Iceland.
(4) Faeroe Is.
(5) Baltic Sea (Estonia) and White Sea along the coast of ne. Russia (Kola Peninsula).
