Ne. subsaharan Africa. S. tropical and se. Africa;
Two populations;
(1) S. Sudan, w. and c. Ethiopia, Eritrea to se. Kenya. Then from s. Angola, ne. Namibia, Zambia, se. Zaire, ne. Botswana, nw., e. and s. Tanzania s. through Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe to South Africa (Transvaal, e. Orange Free State, Natal, s. and sw. Cape Province).
(2) Ethiopia (Dire Daoua).
(3) Sc. Africa from the equator s. to Mozambique (Save River).
