Sw. Aficia. Coastal e. Africa. Comoro Is. Madagascar;
Widely fragmented distribution;
(1) E. Ethiopia, Somalia, Zaire, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi to se. Mozambique and ex. ne. South Africa. Sporadically to n. Zimbabwe and ne. Botswans. Madagascar and the Comoro Is.
Disperses into e. African interior.
(2) Sw. Angola and nw. Namibia.
